Instead of a DJ...?

I have a shower radio, and I got to thinking -- instead of a DJ, maybe we should just pump in this station with their live feed. Here's their last 10 played.

And as I type this, they are playing "I wanna sex you up." Classy. hahaha... It's like a strange mix of our Tennis Pump Tape and Michael Jackson, plus Fergie. hmmm...

I LOVE that they play Michael Jackson so often - seriously, he's on the radio every time I shower!

Anyway, since sarcasm isn't always well-conveyed over the internet, I'm totally kidding about this.

Now they're playing a remix of "Sexual Healing." Awesome.

Another thought about colors

Yeah, that's all Martha right there, but I do love those colors, and they do seem pretty pulled together the way she has them. I LOVE the flower bouquet, and the dresses are cute (right, girls?).

It's not too far off from what we were thinking before, but it keeps things more in the green-ish/aqua family than the blues...

Still loving the flowers. YAY!

The colors of the rainbow

Using the colors of sea glass as inspiration, the theme colors will be light orange/peach, light green, and light blue.

I'm thinking flowers for the girls will be peach and green, my flowers will be peach, green, and dark orange, and the guys will have dark orange bouts.

Bridesmaid dresses in light blue... thoughts?

Guest book, or lack thereof...

I don't really know where to start with all this stuff, so I'll just jump right in at the middle with our guest book idea...

Patrick and I aren't really into the whole guestbook thing, so we're planning on using postcards instead. We'll get postcards from places we've lived and visited, and we'll ask our guests (via our website) to bring cards from their hometowns. I kind of think a lot of people will forget to bring them, but I still think it'll be neat.

As of right now, I'm thinking we'll just leave the postcards strewn about on a table with some pens. Here's a picture of someone who did something similar (you'll have to scroll down a little bit to see it):

Alternatively, we could put a postcard at each place setting. What I don't like about this idea is that I am totally curious about what postcard each guest will pick, and having them already at the place setting means they don't get to choose! hahaha...

The bride from the link above gave out two stamped postcards in their welcome bags. One of the stamped postcards was already addressed to the couple and they asked their guests to write down their favorite part of the weekend and mail it to the couple. Seems kind of extra self-centered, but I do like the idea of including a stamped postcard in the welcome bag (probably from Avalon/Stone Harbor).

As for what to do with the postcards after people have "written" them at the reception, postcards should obviously go in a mailbox, right?

I showed that picture to Pat, and he had an even better idea -- his thought was to get an old time post office box front like this:

So, we're going to get one of the big ones (11" by 6") either from that website or from ebay, and then have Ferg (Pat's dad) make a simple wooden box to go behind it, with a slot at the top for people to deposit their "mail." hahaha I love it. Hopefully we'll also be able to hang the mailbox on the wall after the wedding - that's the plan for right now, at least... I think it'd be a nice place/way to store our wedding cards (not just the post cards, but maybe even all of them, if it's big enough).

Mission Statement

My goal with this blog is to keep everyone in the loop, and keep track of ideas as I come across them on the in-na-net. With my girls all over the place this seems like it could be a good way to get some feedback on my latest thoughts. I'm sure this blog will also serve as proof of my endless indecisiveness... Yeah, this could be fun... Let's see what happens!! :o)
